Artist Highlight: BEL

Clovis, California native, BEL, is an exceptional pop-alternative flair. At 26 years of age, she has crafted quite the following with nearly 60,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Her style is rather gentle yet prickly and above all else, genuine.

She’s been compared to likes of some legends like Fleetwood Mac for her indie aesthetic at times. Being a decorative spirit even when she’s not recording, she finds joy in drawing and learning new hobbies all the while cultivating her cooking career on the side.

Most recently, she dropped a summer vibe by the name of Jet Lag. The EP is a lovely piece with features from Boyish on one of my personal favorites, “Paul BigDawg”, and girlhouse. She spoke highly of both, noting how helpful in this process they all were. This project follows her debut EP back in 2021 titled Muscle Memory—another great expository sample of her beautiful voice and array of instruments.

“Big City” opens the former, an easy-on-the-ears, an almost folk-like tale of heartthrob and just how small the world can feel at times. However, Jet Lag brought about a rebirth to her music career—an inspiring catalyst to work with a number of new artists, traveling the States. “Jet Lag is about letting go. These songs are my way of expressing the push and pull I felt while finding healing and growth.”

BEL thoroughly enjoys performing and what comes with it which includes connecting with fans and artists alike. Most recently, she opened at the Moroccan Lounge in LA, following with her first headlining act at Knitting Factory in NYC.

One of her more popular tracks and fan favorite, “mason jar”, boasts a countryside soundscape promoting the use of guitar which is an affirmed part of the project as well. The song also coincides with a cool lyric video shot by Anders Gilyard & Roy Link, which you can find a number of others on her YouTube page.

Go stream Jet Lag down below in the meantime and stay in-store for all the good that’s to come for BEL!
