Artist Highlight: Conswank

Meet Connor Stankevich, better known by his stage name Conswank, a 27-year-old hip-hop artist hailing from Burlington, Vermont. Growing up with influences like Joey Badass, Pro Era, and Wiz Khalifa, Conswank was drawn to the jazzy, laid-back beats of artists like Tom Misch.

He stumbled upon Tom's beat tapes on SoundCloud, prompting him to write and produce his own music in this unique style. Leading to the unique sound we hear today.

Conswank's journey in music began back in 8th grade with the “I am T-Pain” app on his iPod touch. From there, he fell in love with creating music, eventually purchasing a cheap mic from Guitar Center and spending nights freestyling and experimenting on GarageBand with his friends. With his passion for music only growing since then.

Recently, Conswank released his single "Holes in My Denim," a laid-back, morning smoke-esque track produced by Will Keeper. The duo shares a great relationship, and their collaboration on this song truly showcases the compatibility between Keeper's beats and Conswank's voice. The accompanying music video was inspired by Wes Anderson, with visually pleasing shots and carefully curated set designs, all filmed in Conswank's own home.

Conswank says he's currently working on a solo project titled "Low Point Retreat," set to release in mid-May, which will feature nine songs that tell the story of his life and recent experiences. But aside from his solo career, he is also an artist under 99 Records, working on group projects in collaboration with 99 Neighbors.

For new artists, Conswank offers invaluable advice. He wants artists to not be afraid to release their music and keep working on their craft. He believes that by not giving up, and continuing to create and share, you'll never truly fail in your music career. With a unique sound and refreshing perspective on the industry, Conswank is an artist to continue to watch out for.
