Artist Highlight: Dally

This week premieres one of our youngest artists we’ve covered to date, but a great one all the same. Dallas otherwise known as Dally is a dweller of Orlando, FL and at the age of 16 began to ease his way into all that music has to offer.

Originally exploring rap music and the sub-genres that follow, he veered off into this pop sound which has seemingly been a fit. However, he still adores hip-hop and means to still incorporate it throughout his discography.

At such a young age, he’s already developed a distinguished taste for some of the pioneers/staples of R&B plus Pop. “My favorite artists right now are Post Malone, Lauryn Hill, Andre 3000, and YNW Melly.” Probably one of the most varying lists out there, but all good names to appraise and derive his own.

With such a small catalog, it’s fair to assume that Dally is very much still arranging a sound to call his, but the titles he’s put forth thus far prove a good a start. “I don’t know my genre yet. I fit in with singing more than rapping, but I have faith in my craft.” Keep in mind he’s begun all of a year ago, so there is all the more to follow.

“Don’t Say What I say” is his introduction to the Pop sound and his first public release on streaming platforms. It’s a song that’s easy on the ears and his voice fits well with the cadence featuring a beautiful guitar overlay with drums and a nice bass. “Heartbeat” following to close out the year, was released in December and another great step in distinguishing his sound, carrying a bit of a more uptempo rhythm with some of the same instruments. “The song [Heartbeat] is about a guy having a crush on a girl but ultimately, f*cks up his chances. I was inspired by this girl I had just met & I ended up pulling her because of the song by the way which was clutch!”

With 2021 in the rear, Dally is ready to flip the page and hit the ground running this new year. His artistic resolution being to get more music videos in and of course jumping the gun on some music. We had the pleasure of seeing some of the visuals he's captured and he has some very unique, cool ideas in store, like the cover image for his latest single. He hinted at a rap single coming soon, plus we can also expect a video for his latest solo! In the meantime, go stream “Heartbeat” & “Don’t Say What I Say” on all platformAt such a young age, he’s already developed a distinguished taste for some of the pioneers/staples of R&B plus Pop. “My favorite artists right now are Post Malone, Lauryn Hill, Andre 3000, and YNW Melly.” Probably one of the most varying lists u, but all good names to appraise and derive hist otwhne.r e
