Punk sensation out of Livingston, NJ, Ethan Ross, has provided his fans with music since 2018. Maintaining and maneuvering since, he's been able to accumulate a nice following, boasting 100,000+ monthly Spotify listeners and hundred thousands of plays. Ethan adds a nice flare to this genre of his, as he already sticks out like a sore thumb being a "redheaded emo-pop rapper", but the beauty of the artistry is he embraces it and makes it his own.
Early on, Ethan toyed with elements of genres like Hip-Hop & Trap. He often found himself falling under the “Emo-Rap” umbrella of artists, but he refused to be contained and has since expounded upon his sound. Growing up, he played a plethora of instruments from piano (one of his favorites) to guitar, handed down from family. He discusses a lot of family elements in his music, citing that it all just serves as his outlet of expression, which that it is there for. "I make music for the non-belongers".
Judging by the insight he shared, one can tell he’s proud of how far he’s come as well as in the progression he has made, sonically and numerically. Ethan spent some time in California relatively recently where he particularly notes he made a lot of this sonic progression, working with the likes of band @dampstate, which he too, took part in the inception of. It was during these times of straying away from home where he discovered a lot more of himself to which he began experimenting with a lot of different sounds.
Hit song “Katana” took off beyond his own imagination, but this is what Ethan has worked so dearly for. He believes the hit to keep aging like fine wine, understandably so. His latest smash, from September "Jump" serves perfectly for the spooky vibes of Hallows Eve, as Ethan converses with the ghosts and ghouls as he realms in the Upside Down. "Jump was something fun to make, but what's going to be on the album blows this out the water." Exciting news to say the least. Some of his favorite artists include 3 Days Grace, Chavelle, the world renowned Nickelback, and Deathtones. Be on the lookout for all that is Ethan going forward though!
