Jaco8gale, also known as Jamie, is a rising star in the indie-pop scene. Growing up in Greece, Jamie was influenced by the music his dad introduced him to, this being The Cure, Depeche Mode, and Blink 182, while his mom was a fan of U2 and Enrique Iglesias. His uncle was also into 90’s boom-bap and Kelly Clarkson, creating a diverse musical upbringing that would shape his personal sound over time.
It was Jamie’s uncle who first took him to a festival when he was 12/13 years old, an experience that would spark his passion for music. After starting a band in his late teens and gaining recognition in the Greek music scene, Jamie eventually moved to London. However, due to a combination of factors, including the breakup of his band, the end of a long-term relationship, and the pandemic, he found himself falling into a slump of depression and was in need of a fresh start.
It was during this time that Jamie moved to Los Angeles and began to work on his debut EP, "aliens were always real." This project is a deeply personal one, inspired by his experiences of dealing with depression and coming to a realization that happiness was not so alien after all. The EP captures the essence of his journey during his first year in LA, with tracks like "everythings a girl" showcasing his unique sound, blending elements of indie, pop, and electronic music.
While Jamie is still exploring the direction he wants to take his sound in, he has a catalog of songs that he is excited to release. Jamie advises new artists to focus on being present in the moment and enjoying the journey, rather than comparing themselves to others who may have achieved success at a young age. He believes that staying true to oneself, working hard, and creating music that one personally finds amazing is the key to success.
