Pace is a 20-year old artist from Chicago Suburbia, currently attending DePaul University in the city, pursuing music business. He's a really talented artist who vocalizes and produces as we've seen with a number of our highlighted artists. Cross-streaming Hip-Hop with funky undertones and soulfulness, he's still honing in on the producing side of things, but he has undeniably made his splash onto the music scene.
Pace draws inspiration from the likes of artists like J. Cole, who's 'probably his favorite artist', extracting bits and pieces of sound from Anderson .Paak's glorified grooviness and funky feel. However, he sees a lot of himself and how he hopes to continue progressing as an artist in Mac Miller saying, "That's probably who I align with the most" and all of these elements certainly come to light in his music. He's always had a love for Rock and Roll, but his brother put him onto Hip-Hop early on and he's been rockin' with it ever since.
Pace has been able to build quite the little empire of followers, having just over 10,000 monthly listeners and counting on Spotify, as a verified artist. His latest single "Living Backwards" dropped back in March of 2021, which is quite an enjoyable piece, hosting a number of sounds and instruments with a great hook and grasp. He's seen his most success so far with this one, landing in a number of top playlists and the progression has become apparent.
"It's kind of a combination of Funk and Hip-Hop...just kind of a good groovy song. The lyrics really just speak about living in the moment and doing what makes you happy", he said about the track.
He's got a new single on the way, hopefully dropping by the end of the month for us to look forward to and has been collaborating with a few different producers as of late. Don't sleep on Pace!
