Blowing in from the windy city, 22 year old Worry Club (Chase Walsh) checks every box that modern day indie-rock music strives to suggest. A young kid singing/songwriting about romance and the trials and tribulations of life over drum kicks and enthused synths and sounds. You‘re almost compelled to melt into the songs how he creates such a emo-hypnotic pace.
His exponential rise to notoriety started in 2020 with debut EP Chelsea’s Hands featuring some of my personal favorites like steady “Dragged Around” and “Through U”. Amazing guitar playing and utilization of drum kits. Like many, he’s been around music for some time though: “I put out my first album when I was 14. And have been steady recording music since then. I’ve always enjoyed creating things myself and can’t imagine doing anything else with my life.” "Japanese" saw the most success to date, a catchy ballad with a fun, hip-hop/pop infused outro in " A Whole Year of You", catching wind of many ears and media, landing him his first title with over 1M+ streams.
His latest solo “Pretty Face” is a very cool introduction, with the crowd applauding and cheering all the same, to the new chapter Worry Club is opening with an upcoming EP in the works. All the way from lightheartedness to heartbreak he shared what you can expect from this project.
“I’ve been working on these songs for over a year now. Some of them really heavy but some, like pretty face, are really light and fun. It’s cool fitting these songs together within a larger scale as opposed to releasing singles.”
He boasts a voice and the tools that are needed to be heard live and it’s been a dream of his to be doing so as he has lately. He’s also looking forward to getting some collabs in the near future, hopefully making his way out to LA for some time from his homebase in the Chi.
In the off time he enjoys the thrills of thrifting, collecting, and watching films/movies. His advice for those coming up like him: Drink your water and stop listening to NeverShoutNever.
