Lule - Destination

Rising artist Lule has noticeably been doing a great job of creating a name for himself in the music industry. Being based in a big city like Atlanta, which is considered a major hub for anything music or entertainment-related, he was able to carve a unique path to eventual stardom, thanks to his elite-pen game. For most, the bright lights and big stars can be somewhat intimidating/distracting, but for Lule, they fueled him to go even harder and develop his artistry. And that's exactly what he did. The fact that he was placing records with artists like LVRN’s Eli Derby, caught the attention of major playmakers.

Most recently, he released his latest single, “Destination”. Not only does the song’s title contain some sentimental value, but so does the accompanying music video. The director, Dezmen Alexander, is effectively able to capture the raw emotion that Lule poured into this one song. Lyrics like “You’ve been tryna give me tough love, Hard headed n*ggas, no luck”, mean so much more, because you clearly see that these are not just some catchy melodies that he made up and instead are vulnerable experiences that molded him. If you’re ever feeling down on your luck, this is one of those songs that can pick you up out of your slump and back to feeling unstoppable, because it's so distinctly authentic.

Burke - Asterisk

Singer-songwriter Burke unveiled his first solo single, "Asterisk" marking a new chapter in his musical journey post Kid Smoko. Collaborating with producer Michael Ferranti, Burke delivers a captivating indie/alt-pop track that intimately explores the depths of personal struggle while showcasing his refined songwriting, vocal prowess, and production skills.

With roots in Maplewood, New Jersey, Burke's musical upbringing was enriched by his parents' eclectic taste, exposing him to a vast range of influential artists from Biggie and The Beatles to Joy Division and David Bowie. This early exposure laid the foundation for his musical endeavors, which blossomed when he witnessed Kanye West's mesmerizing performance of "Love Lockdown" at the VMAs.

"Asterisk" serves as Burke's personal diary of the past year, delving into themes of isolation, hopelessness, and eventual triumph in the face of crisis. The song touches on the difficulty of seeking help during our most challenging moments, a sentiment that resonates with many.

Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of artists such as Julian Casablancas, Kanye West, and Yung Lean. Burke crafts a sound that defies conventional boundaries. His debut single "Asterisk" exemplifies his ability to traverse genres, combining pop, indie, electronic, and hip-hop influences into a lavish sonic experience. With his refined sensibilities and refusal to conform to trends, Burke is poised to make his mark on the indie/alt-pop landscape, offering relatable lyricism, bold experimentation, and irresistible catchiness.
