Houston's Justin Michael's "Missing Person" is Worth the Search

Houston, Texas native, Justin Michael recently released his new project, “Missing Person.” Since 2019, this alternative R&B artist has been crafting and developing a unique sound that is bound to keep listeners hooked. Drawing on his Texas roots and through sheer artist development, he has been able to elevate his sound to even higher heights. Future Texas music legends like Don Tolliver and Post Malone laid the blueprint for Justin to embrace their unconventional styles and incorporate their influence into his own artistry. With him maturing in age, this year has been about proving that he's capable of having a more mature style of songwriting to match.

Justin’s latest project, “Missing Person” is his most emotionally driven release yet. In a world where so many people are used to bottling up their feelings and insecurities, this 10-song body of work serves as a safe refuge to pull people out of those dark mental spaces. “I'm trying to give an open window to a kind of truth that isn't so polished and making it more straightforward. It doesn't allow you to really acknowledge or be the real you hence the title, ‘Missing Person,’ Justin shares.

This is certainly one of those albums where anyone can find something in the lyrics to help find peace amidst this world of chaos. Despite being a sub-genre, Alternative R&B is starting to become the standard, and Justin is positioning himself at the forefront of it. He's seemingly cracked the code by finding the perfect balance of introspection and experimentation within his sound.
