Noir Disco’s Requiem featuring “Here Comes the Light”

The trepidation of death is one of great magnitude for a lot of people. The trio that makes Noir Disco, rather delves into its makeup and what it is or may mean to die. The crew debuted their first studio album for 2023 at the tail end, Heaven? Heaven!, an ensemble of thoughtful anthems and mortuary analysis. “Here Comes the Light” serves as a favorite thus far, for its interpolation of genres and how well it pieces the album together.

The tandem of brothers, Carter & Nolan Dickson along with member Henry Miller have been longtime friends which personifies their group as a whole I believe—experimental, satirical, and considerate. The motif is divulged from their "strict devotion to the Catholic Church".

Nolan heads this track, displaying his many instrumental talents through interweaving of keys, guitar, and vocals while Miller layered the drums for which crafts a rich quench of sound, each element contributing harmoniously.

Particularly the first part of the song exudes a folklore vibe, with a focal guitar undertone, creating a captivating musical experience. Bridging the beginning and end—which is almost symbolic—is an injection of electric tones and textures rifting you through an avant-garde landscape. “Here Comes the Light” concludes with a relieving confluence of the former and latter, resonating with the listener in the sense that all has come aright in the end and light has arrived.
