Okayracer is a familiar name around Aurision as we first had the pleasure of covering him and some of his music back in July of last year before our rebrand. Since then ‘Racer has been all about steady progression in all facets. Now, 20, he’s grinding out his Computer Science degree all the while expanding upon his capabilities as an artist and his debut track of 2022 boasts that.
The song “okayracer!” is enamored with fast paced, grungy sounds that provide for an energizing feel of euphoria. Ironically, it entirely feels like that of a fast car racing game or production and this is one my gym rats out there can easily get a pump into. We asked him some of his thoughts on the self-titled track and how it stacks up in his catalogue:
“My new song “okayracer!” is my 3rd official release and my favorite song I've made so far! The recording process of the song was very different than a lot of other songs I've recorded.”
He seems to be talking a bit of that talk on this song as well, keeping the hype alive with lyrics like “I’m about to go off and turn this f***ing place up”. The cover art is an excellent portrayal of the persona and song alike. He offered some insight into the production of the track with Aldrch, an astounding producer and artist as well.
“I recorded the whole verse before I recorded the hook which I have never done before but I just wanted make sure I could get my message across first and then marry that with a catchy hook”, and in his favor it has already become his biggest song to date.
