VANARIN's 'I Don't Know' Is A Retro-Futuristic Groove for Modern Times

VANARIN, the Anglo-Italian psych-pop band formed in July 2016, continues to build on their extensive musical journey. Founded by David Paysden, Marco Sciacqua, Massimo Mantovani, and Marco Brena, VANARIN is on the way to making a name for themselves with their unique blend of psych-pop and rock influences.

Their latest single, "I Don't Know," is the third preview from their upcoming album, which is already generating buzz as one of their most exciting releases of the year. The song showcases VANARIN's signature catchy sound, blended with an array of diverse influences that span genres from indietronica and R&B to psychedelia and funk. This track is a true example of their experimental approach, mixing 70s synth sounds with modern nu-lounge atmospheres, all layered over exotica-flavored tribal rhythms. The result is a retro-futuristic crossover that aligns with the styles of Tame Impala and Junior Boys, but with a unique twist that highlights VANARIN's flair for innovation and exploration.

"I Don't Know" is a track that captures the essence of moments when time seems to pause, inviting listeners to lose themselves in its rhythmic and soulful dream. Whether it's the urge to dance or simply unwind, the track creates a space for a necessary detachment from the everyday grind, as reflected in its lyrics: "Wake up in a desert room, solo in a state of bloom, don't know what I'm doing." The song embodies a celebration of life’s little escapes, blending modernity with nostalgia in a way that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.
